motivated person who cares about the future of Leavenworth to serve
on the City Planning Commission. . .
The role of the Planning Commission is
to draft new development regulations and to develop long-range
planning documents related to local need and pursuant to State law
under the Growth Management Act.
Now is a vital time to become involved with the City Planning
Commission. In 2008-2009 the Planning Commission will be working to
complete updates of the Transportation and Parks Plans as well as
creating a Regional Trails Plan, updating the Housing element of the
City’s Comprehensive Plan and updating Shoreline and Critical Areas
Ordinances. The Planning Commission meets the first Wednesday
of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Position #4 is currently open and shall be filled for the length of
the unexpired term (June 1, 2009). Members are selected
without respect to political affiliations and serve without
compensation. The position is appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the City Council.
In order to qualify for the
position, you must reside or own property within the city limits or
the urban growth area. If you are interested in the position,
