MEETING INFORMATION
The City Council meets at 6:00 p.m. in the Leavenworth City Hall Council
Chambers on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Additionally, the
Council holds a monthly Study Session at 9:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of
each month to discuss upcoming actions.

Elmer Larsen
Position 1. Elmer was elected to the
Leavenworth City Council with his term beginning in 2008. |

Lester "Lucky" Moore
Position 2. Lucky Moore was born,
raised, and attended school in Leavenworth. He worked in the
logging industry and for Alcoa Aluminum for several years before
purchasing the 'Ski Tavern' on Front Street in Leavenworth which he ran
for ten years. After selling the Tavern, Lucky went to work for
the City of Leavenworth as a utility crewman. Lucky retired after
17 years as a City employee before running for a position on the City
Council and was elected with his term to begin in 2008, but began his
term upon the resignation of his predecessor in November of 2007.
As a former City
employee, Lucky brings a unique perspective and knowledge of
public works and maintenance issues to the Council and is an integral
member of the Public Works and Parks Committees and Upper Valley PRSA
(Parks and Recreation Service Area) Board.
Lucky is enjoying his
retirement and service on the City Council. Among his other
hobbies, Lucky is a pilot and has owned two air planes.

Tibor Lak
Position 3. Tibor Lak was elected to the Leavenworth
City Council and began his first term in 2004.
He is currently serving his second term which began in 2008.

Chris Rader
Position 4. Chris Rader is the public relations
coordinator for the Wenatchee Valley Museum. Her extensive background in
communications includes serving as news director for KOHO Radio,
information specialist for Wenatchee Valley College, director of the
Wenatchee River Salmon Festival (2001), public information officer for
the Lake Wenatchee Ranger District, and reporter/copy editor for the
Leavenworth Echo.
Chris has lived in the Leavenworth area since 1974, about half of that
time as co-owner of Gibbs Organic Farm. Her three sons were born and
raised in the Leavenworth area and have returned to live here
permanently. Chris is an enthusiastic volunteer in many community
organizations; she co-founded the Leavenworth Community Coffeehouse, has
directed youth sports leagues, served on numerous advisory committees,
was president of Upper Valley Arts, and is active with conservation and
educational organizations.

Michael Molohon
Position 6.
Michael was educated in private schools before attending the University
of South Dakota School of Business where he graduated with a BA in
Business Administration. He was a commissioned officer in the US
Army's Adjutant General Corp where he served 3 years at various
locations in Germany.
Following his military service, Michael taught English at the Berlitz
School of Languages in Berlin, Germany and conducted tours of western
Europe with a company based in Switzerland. He also served as
office manager and sales agent for a large antique dealer in Upper
Bavaria and managed a retail store in Munich, Germany.
Upon returning to the US, after 14 years abroad, Michael owned two
businesses in Solvang, California where he also served as an honorary
Chamber Ambassador until moving to Leavenworth in 1990.
Michael currently
owns Ganz Klasse!, a retail store located at 843 Front Street, and
has been employed by Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat since 1996 where
he is currently the senior group sales manager. In addition to
his duties as a second term Council member, Michael is currently
serving his second-term as a board member of the Leavenworth Chamber
of Commerce, serving on Programs such as, Economic Development, AG
Tourism, and Arts Committees as well as an active member of the
Redevelopment Steering Committee. Michael also officiates at scores
of weddings each year in the upper Wenatchee Valley.

Peter D.
DeVries - Mayor Pro-Tem
Position 7. Peter is serving his
fourth 2 year term on the Council. He and his wife Joan moved to Leavenworth in
1987. He is a member of the Washington State Building Code Council and serves
as the vice-chair.
He is a past member of the Cascade Medical Center Foundation, Cascade
Education Foundation, Big Bend Community College Foundation, Wenatchee
Valley College Foundation, and the Leavenworth Design Review Board. He
also served as president of the Cascade Medical Center Board of
Commissioners.
Peter is a
former high school and university teacher with degrees in biology and
chemistry, and has a Doctorate from the University of San Francisco. He
has served as a community college administrator and president for 20 years
in California and Washington. His last position was as president of Big
Bend Community College in Moses Lake. He has worked and traveled extensively in
Europe and Japan. Since retirement from education he has been actively
involved as a designer, completing over 150 building projects in
Washington State.
